We need volunteers!
We are almost ready to pilot three new Leadership Therapy Diagnostics.
1) Perfectionism
In my practice I often meet clients who are healthy perfectionists, leaders who set high but realistic standards both for themselves and others. I also see those whose excessively high standards impair rather than motivate performance. These neurotic perfectionists become paralyzed by procrastination, overly concerned about making a mistake and disappointing others.
2) Corporate Life Event Checklist
Life events are experiences or situations (both positive or negative) that challenge one’s psychological status quo. They are usually measured using situations outside the workplace – buying a house, getting married or divorced. For a number of years we have measured life events that happen in the corporation. For example, leaving or joining a team, getting a promotion, ‘surviving’ a round of layoffs. We’d like to create a normative database by industry of the type and number of life events experienced by workers. Which seem most stable (fewer life events) and which seem ‘Life Event Prone’, addicted to serial change.
3) Leadership Attachment Inventory
Attachment style is described as the degree to which a person can develop close, trusting relationships with others. There are two major types of attachment - secure and insecure. For the leader knowledge of his or her attachment style has profound implications for trust, retention, innovation and creativity.
We are looking for volunteers to take part in piloting these instruments. If you take part we will provide you with a customized report describing your level of attachment, perfectionism, or insight into whether your Company is what we call ‘Life Event Prone’. Each survey will take approximately 20 minutes to complete but we will provide more details to those who are interested in taking part. We are looking for 50 volunteers to do one or more of these surveys. Its likely the timeframe will be late mid March to early April.
